Wallpaper* and Harvey Nichols Team Up

Harvey Nichols has teamed with design and lifestyle magazine Wallpaper*, to open The Wallpaper* Bar + Kitchen. Offering an all day menu it will be located on the lower ground floor.

BBC Food to Close

The BBC has announced that they are to close down the BBC food website as part of the streamlining of its online content in relation to the Royal Charter debate. BBC Good Food, which is a commercial entity and separate is thought to be unaffected. Of course, IGT always has you covered with its catalogue of luxurious recipes.

Elizabeth David gets Blue Plaque

Elizabeth David, who died in 1992 and brought Mediterranean food to the UK public, lived at 24 Halsey Street for 45 from 1947 to her death. This week the house will get a Blue Plaque.

Matcha Tea at Liberty

Tombo, the Japanese green tea specialists, are opening a popup café in Liberty. They’ll be serving food and drink made with matcha. It opens May 20th for six week. The menu will include matcha lattes, iced matcha teas, matcha brownies and matcha Oreo cookies/

British Museum Shows Underwater Archaeology

This week saw the opening of the British Museum’s newest exhibition – The BP exhibition Sunken Cities: Egypt’s Lost Worlds. The exhibit showcases some 300 items discovered in the last 20 years or so around Greece and Egypt. The exhibit brings light to these lost ancient artefacts and the world that they inhabited. The exhibit goes on until 27th November.

De Niro comes to Comes to Covent Garden

The site, near the Royal Opera House, will house two restaurants, deli/café, spa and a members club. Plans have been submitted to Westminster Council and work could begin in 2017 ahead of a 2019 opening.

AirBnB illegal in Berlin

A new law in Berlin has made it illegal to rent out full apartments on AirBnB causing the number of Berlin properties on the site to drop significantly.
